Score Not Improving After Your Changes

You worked through the fixes, ran a new audit, and the score barely moved. Usually the change hasn't reached the AI platforms yet, or the two audits aren't measuring the same thing.

Likely causes

The two audits asked different questions

Keywords audited in the last 10 days start unticked on the New Audit form. A second audit may cover different keywords, which makes the totals incomparable.

The change isn't readable

If the fixed text only appears after JavaScript runs, most AI crawlers still see the old page. A robots.txt rule or a firewall can also turn them away.

The platform doesn't search the web in our audit

We ask ChatGPT and Claude without web search, so they answer from what the model already learned. A change to your site shows up there only after the model is retrained. Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews read the live web and can change sooner.

The fix moved a small part of the score

Accuracy is 30% of the average and Mention Rate is 40%. Correcting a wrong price removes a flag, but new mentions move the score most.

Platforms moved in opposite directions

One platform rising while another falls can leave the total flat.

Fix it

1. Start the next audit with All ticked in the Keywords card and the same platforms as last time.
2. Open the page you changed with JavaScript turned off. If the new text is missing, it needs to be in the HTML.
3. Open Crawlability and click Check AI crawler access. Fix any retrieval crawler marked Blocked, by robots.txt or by your firewall.
4. On the audit page, open Query Insights, click Missing, then click a row. Read which sources the answer cited instead of you.
5. On the dashboard, open Your visibility → Trends → "Score by AI Model" to see which platform is holding the total down.
6. Re-audit after the platforms have had time to re-read your pages. We can't tell you how long that takes; no platform publishes it.
